Terms & Conditions

Happy Water Heaters is a DBA of Central Plumbing Inc. · CSLB License #1086463. These terms govern our guarantees and services.

Lifetime Workmanship Guarantee

Happy Water Heaters (a DBA of Central Plumbing Inc., CSLB License #1086463) guarantees the workmanship of every water heater installation we perform for the life of the installed unit. If installation workmanship we performed fails under normal use, we will repair it at no charge for as long as that unit remains in service at its original installation location.

What is covered

  • Leaks or failures at the water and gas connection points we installed
  • Fittings, joints, and connections made by our technicians
  • Venting and flue work we performed (where applicable)
  • Seismic strapping, mounting, and securing of the unit
  • Defects in the installation labor we performed

What is not covered

  • The water heater unit itself and its internal components, which are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty (typically 6–12 years depending on model). We will assist with manufacturer warranty claims.
  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, accident, vandalism, fire, flood, freezing, earthquake, or other acts of nature
  • Sediment, scale, or corrosion resulting from hard water or water quality, or from failure to perform recommended maintenance
  • Any work, repair, modification, or service performed by anyone other than Happy Water Heaters after our installation
  • Pre-existing conditions in your home’s plumbing, gas, electrical, or venting systems outside our installation scope
  • Relocation of the unit after installation
  • Consumable or wear components outside of workmanship

Conditions

  • Applies only to units purchased from and installed by Happy Water Heaters.
  • The unit must remain at its original installation location.
  • The unit must be maintained per the manufacturer’s recommendations. Enrollment in our maintenance plan satisfies this requirement.
  • This guarantee covers the original customer at the original installation address and does not transfer to subsequent owners of the property.
  • Coverage ends when the installed unit is permanently removed from service or replaced.

How to make a claim

Call (805) 427-8444. We will schedule a visit, typically same-day or next-day for active leaks.


Same-Day or It’s Free Guarantee

If you schedule a Standard Tank Water Heater replacement by noon on a business day and we do not complete the installation the same day, your installation labor is free. “Free” means the installation labor is waived; you remain responsible for the unit and materials.

What “installed” means

The water heater is in place, connected, and operational (producing hot water) the same day. Permits, inspections, or jurisdictional sign-offs that take place after installation do not affect the guarantee.

What qualifies as a Standard Tank Water Heater

A like-for-like replacement of an existing, currently-installed unit that meets all of the following:

  • A 30, 40, or 50-gallon natural gas (standard atmospheric-draft) or standard electric tank water heater
  • A direct swap for an existing tank unit of the same fuel type and venting configuration
  • Installed in the same location as the existing unit, in a serviceable, accessible space with adequate clearance
  • Existing connections (gas or electrical, water, and venting where applicable) are present, accessible, and in serviceable condition
  • Scheduled by 12:00 PM (noon) on a business day (Monday–Saturday, excluding major holidays)

Unit brand and model

The guarantee applies to a quality water heater of our selection that we stock on our trucks. If you request a specific brand or model we do not carry, we’re glad to install it — but because it may need to be sourced, the same-day guarantee does not apply to that installation.

Customer availability

The guarantee requires that you are reachable to approve work and provide site access during the scheduled installation window. A reasonable attempt to reach you means at least two (2) phone calls and one (1) text message to the number on file, spaced at least thirty (30) minutes apart, during that window. If we cannot reach you after these attempts, or cannot gain site access, the same-day timeframe is paused and the guarantee does not apply to any resulting delay.

Does not apply to

  • Propane (LP) units, which are subject to equipment availability
  • Tankless, hybrid, or heat-pump units
  • Units 65 gallons or larger, or power-vent, direct-vent, or sealed-combustion models
  • A specific brand or model we do not stock and must source
  • Units requiring relocation, or installations requiring new or upgraded gas, water, venting, or electrical work beyond a standard like-for-like swap
  • Jobs requiring permits with same-day inspection holds, or code-required upgrades discovered on site that you choose to defer
  • Circumstances outside our control, including access issues and parts availability for non-standard units

Pricing & Invoicing

All work is quoted on a flat-rate basis and presented for your approval before work begins. Nothing is added to your invoice without your explicit approval. Code-required items are quoted as separate line items. Final pricing depends on unit selection, installation location, fuel type, and any code-required items specific to your home.


Manufacturer’s Warranty

The water heater unit and its internal components are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, which is separate from our workmanship guarantee. Warranty length and terms vary by manufacturer and model. We will assist you in filing manufacturer warranty claims.
